7:00 PM - 8:00 PMThrough early adulthood, Einstein actively denied his Jewish identity, but then in the early 1930s in Germany he suddenly started giving talks to Jewish organizations using the pronouns “we” and “us.” What led to Einstein’s sudden embrace of his Jewishness? Professor Steven Gimbel holds the Edwin T. Johnson and Cynthia Shearer Johnson Distinguished Teaching Chair in the Humanities at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, where he also serves as Chair of the Philosophy Department.
