Exclusive Screening of Tragic Awakening

The October 7 pogrom in Israel was the worst massacre of Jews since the days of the Holocaust, yet rather than rally to the victim’s side with empathy and compassion, the international community has, confoundingly, exploded with Jew-hatred.
The film, Tragic Awakening: A New Look at the Oldest Hatred is therefore a profound and timely documentary that delves deeply into the roots of antisemitism and provides sobering revelations about the world’s oldest hatred. Where does such unbridled hatred come from, and can it be harnessed into a force for good? Tragic Awakening answers these and so many other questions with unvarnished candor.
The screening will include a conversation with Rawan Osman. Osman is a Syrian-Lebanese/German activist advocating peace with Israel. She served on the PeaceComms executive committee, speaks for SharakaNGO, and studies Islamic and Jewish Studies at Heidelberg University. Osman founded ArabsAsk and chairs PostOctober7 e. V., documenting persecution of pro-Israel Arab activists and organizing Abraham Accords speaking tours.
The film will be screened at The Weitzman Jewish Museum on Sunday, April 6 at 1:00 PM. You can find out more and register here. Students can get free tickets to the film screening by typing in SCHOLARSHIP for the Promo code when registering.
