A Synagogue Like Ours Shouldn’t Be So Unusual.
But It Is.
It doesn’t happen at every synagogue. But Adath Jeshurun is more than a synagogue;
and it’s been that way for many generations.

SUPPORTING
AJ
In addition to our dedicated clergy and staff, AJ continues to thrive through the tremendous efforts of our many volunteers. Here at AJ, there is a place for everyone to become involved. No matter your skill, no matter how much/little time you have to help, we’ve got opportunities for you. To find out how you can help, contact the synagogue office at 215.635.6611.
JOINING
AJ
Congregation Adath Jeshurun is an inclusive, egalitarian Conservative synagogue. All are welcome irrespective of gender, race, or sexual orientation. We welcome dual-faith families who want to be involved in the Jewish community.
SERVICE
SCHEDULE
AJ has minyan every morning and every evening. We welcome visitors who want to pray with us.
A PLACE FOR EVERYONE
"AJ is truly a community... better yet a family. And, I get to see family every day. I am grateful to call this my home. And I am grateful to see and share my family every day."
Calvin Thompson,
Building Supervisor

Celebrating Our Own:
A Two-Part Congregational Project
The story of Jews in America is the amalgamated story of every individual family — including yours. Join us in building the AJ archive with two initiatives designed to increase
awareness of our own family history while discovering how it intersected with our fellow congregants’.
The Route to AJ
How did your family find its way to AJ? Where did they make a home when they first came to America? And when they arrived in the Philadelphia area, where did they first live?
In the lobby this year, find two maps, one of the United States, and one of Philadelphia. Place a pin in the locations that represent your family’s journey and exchange stories with a fellow congregant. Let’s share the memories so meaningful to us.
Making an Impact One Family at a Time: The Congregation’s Stories
Every AJ family has a story to tell of their ancestors’ initiative, resilience, and contribution. We want to hear yours! Send in a page describing your family’s immigrant journey, their professions, special skills
and achievements, and the legacy they left to your family and community. Include the funny stories, the trials and tribulations, and a photo or recipe if you like. We’ll compile a book to share in the spring for all to treasure.

Have you visited AJ's Space for Families? We have spaces for you to step out of the pews when you need a short break. We've also created a new family space adjacent to the main lobby. This space is designed to give families with young children a place to stretch or take a break without going far from the sanctuary. We welcome your joy and encourage you to come to services with your whole family this year!
