Before the Aliyah is read, the honoree
called to the Torah says:
Praise the Lord, Source of all blessing.
The Congregation responds, and then the
honoree repeats:
Praised be the Lord, Source of all blessing,
forevermore.
The honoree continues:
Blessed art thou, Lord our God, Ruler of the universe, who has
called us to thy service from among all the peoples by giving us thy
Torah. Blessed art thou, O Lord, Giver of the Torah.
After the Aliyah has been read, the honoree says:
Blessed art thou, Lord our God, Ruler of the universe, who hast
given us the Torah of truth and hast thereby planted in us everlasting
life. Blessed art thou, O Lord, Giver of the Torah.
